The Nokia 500 is a brand new phone from Nokia that was announced last August 2011 and is set for release this third quarter of the year. The Nokia 500 supports both 2G and 3G networks. This fast and colourful handset has a sleek design (111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1mm / 93g) with smooth Touch screen. It has 3.2 inches TFT capacitive touch screen with 360×640 resolution of 16Million colors and it has 2 nice features: Accelerometer for Auto rotate feature and Proximity auto turn off.

Inside, the Nokia 500 has an awesome 2Gb internal memory with card slot for microSD expandable up to 32Gb. There is unlimited space for contact entries. You can keep the call records up to 30 days.

I just want to cover a little about this member of Nokia´s X-Series, the Nokia X6. And whats impressive about this phones is that it comes with 32Gb built-in memory, 3.2-inch capacitive display and one-year subscription for “Comes with Music”. “Comes With Music” service allows you to download music to your phone completely free of charge from an online server that features rich audio library and you can do it without violating anyone´s copyright, plus you are permitted to keep all the tracks you downloaded onto your phone or computer even when the subscription expires.

The 3.2-inch screen of the Nokia X6 is the first to integrate capacitive display and its overall sensitivity is substantially better than its resistive counterparts. The display has a resolution of 360×640 pixels, supports 16million colors and making the image quality pretty good, and the screen remains usable even in direct sunlight.

By the way, the Nokia Symbian S60 5th edition OS version 9.4 runs the Nokia X6, the same OS that is used on a number of Nokia’s phones, from the N97 and N97 mini to the 5800 XpressMusic.

Nokia X7 Smartphone and Symbian Anna – the Perfect Combination

This smartphone is one of the front-runners of the all-new Symbian Anna, the Nokia X7. Symbian Anna, previously known as PR 2.0, is a major overhaul bringing portrait QWERTY input, improved browser and a refreshed design to the Symbian^3 platform. The Nokia X7 is also a media-centric device with a premium feel and a 4-inch AMOLED screen. It’s also one of the latest high-end Nokia handsets running Symbian, so it deserves some special attention. But does it deserve your buck? We’ll guide you through the novelties of the interface, see if that 680MHz ARM 11 processor under the hood can back up the experience, and look at the 8-megapixel fixed focus camera, but let’s start with some history.
Nokia X7 comes with a rather unique angular design with four grills on each of its corners, but only the bottom two hold speakers. It has a 4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels dominating the front face. The downside though is that it doesn’t come with Nokia’s ClearBlack enhancement for nearly perfect blacks and better anti-reflection for outdoor visibility, but the colors was very vivid, with blacks still very deep, so I find it as an advantage. Add to that the Gorilla Glass scratch protection, and you’re looking at a delicious screen, corrupted slightly only by the average sunlight legibility.
The Nokia X7 also sports a fixed focus 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. Fixed-focus or full focus has the advantage of keeping nearly everything in focus and at the same time it’s extremely snappy as it doesn’t take the time to adjust focus for each shot. One thing to remember though is that everything closer than 20 inches automatically gets blurry, so you can forget about macro shots.

Since this is my first article of Nokia’s new “X” Series phones, we’ll just take a quick look at the Nokia X3. The Nokia X3 is designed first and foremost for music lovers and is also the first Series 40 6th Edition Ovi Store-enabled device. Sleek, compact and affordable music-oriented handset you can find. Nokia C5-03: Best Symbian Smartphone In Affordable Price

The Nokia C5-03 from C-Series family was released just before the launch of their big product Nokia N8 handset. Nokia C7-00 C-Series Symbian^3 Smartphone

Another new C-Series phone from Nokia is the Nokia C7-00 smartphone. It also operates on the latest Symbian^3 OS and it has the same blazing fast penta-band 3G, a 3.5” nHD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, a 680MHz CPU, 256MB RAM and 1GB ROM, which are some good figures for the efficient Symbian OS. The Nokia C7 has a curved, pebble-esque look. Physically, the Nokia C7′s curved and beveled edges encourage a comfortable hand holding experience. Made of a combination of plastic and metal, the phone, with its candybar form factor and lack of moving parts, feels distinctly durable and dense. The Nokia C7 feels like a phone, an attractive, slim phone. Without any protrusions, it fits very nicely in the pocket, and is comfortable to hold to the ear when making calls on it.

With the 3.5” nHD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, images, videos and text are displayed well on the Nokia C7. And with a resolutiion of 360×640, colours are punchy and vibrant, pixel density is good enough to ensure adequate sharpness for most smartphone tasks. With 8GB of on board memory and expandable memory up to another 32GB via microSD expansion, the Nokia C7 has considerable media potential. With the 680MHz ARM 11 processor, the Nokia C7 will do its job well when web browsing. Social networking integration though, is limited to Facebook and Twitter. The phone will enable you to manually link contact information from your phonebook with Facebook, however, won’t automate the process like other mobile OSs, so it is pretty impractical for multiple contacts.

The Nokia C7 captures video at 3 resolutions, HD, VGA and very low res for multimedia messaging, with its HD 720p capture at 25fps and play back up to a resolution of 720p (DivX, H.264, MP4 and Xvid), and able to play it as smoothly as can be. The on-board GPS finds the Nokia C7’s position pretty quickly. Coupling this with Ovi Maps makes the phone a possible GPS replacement. Battery life on the Nokia C7 is also good. The talk time is 9.6 hours while the standby time is 18 days. The Nokia C7 also defaults to a power saving mode when the battery is low, which can be deactivated, offering easy ways to extend the life if need be.

Nokia C6-01 C-Series Symbian^3 Smartphone

The Nokia C6-01 is a Symbian^3 smartphone from the Nokia C-series with a 3.2in AMOLED (640 x 360-pixels) display with capacitive touchscreen capabilities and Nokia’s ClearBlack technology for improved outdoor visibility. The first thing you will notice about the phone is how compact it is. And what are the examples of this OS-operating system?

Since this website is solely for Nokia phones, I would discuss to you Nokia’s main OS being used in most of its Smartphones, which is Symbian. Yup, Symbian OS! It was first introduced by Ericsson in 2000 for their touchscreen smartphone R380, the first phone to use the new Symbian OS, running version ER5U (Symbian OS version 5, unicode).Although this is first line of product to used Symbian OS, Nokia already have their own Smartphones realeased earlier in 1996, the Nokia 9000 Communicator, which is runnning on GEOS 3.0. operating system. And on the second quarter of 2002, Nokia released its first line of Smartphones running with the Symbian OS (version 6.1); first Series 60(S60) platform device and the first with built-in camera, the Nokia 7650.
S60 is currently amongst the most-used smartphone platforms in the world. It was created by Nokia, who made the platform open source and contributed it to the Symbian Foundation. S60 has been used by mobile device manufacturers including Siemens mobile, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Panasonic and Samsung. Sony co-created the software with Nokia. Last year, new series of Smartphones were realeased by Nokia using latest version of Symbian OS, the Symbian^3. It was announced on February 15, 2010 and was designed to be a more ‘next generation’ smartphone platform. The Symbian^3 release introduced new features such as a new 2D and 3D graphics architecture, UI improvements, and support for external displays through HDMI. It has single tap menus and up to three customizable homescreens. The Symbian^3 SDK was released September 2010. Four phones with the open source Symbian^3 have been released to the market and these are Nokia N8, Nokia C6-01, Nokia E7-00 and Nokia C7-00. Another new version of Symbian technology is the Symbian^4, which is expected to be released in the first half of 2011. Nokia, however, announced last October 2010 that Symbian^4 will not ship as a separate release on new phones, but rather as an improvements or software updates to all current Symbian^3 devices.

So what makes Symbian special and what does it do to my phone?

Symbian features pre-emptive multitasking and memory protection, like other operating systems (especially those created for use on desktop computers). EPOC’s approach to multitasking was inspired by VMS and is based on asynchronous server-based events. Symbian OS was created with three systems design principles in mind: the integrity and security of user data is paramount, user time must not be wasted, and all resources are scarce. To best follow these principles, Symbian uses a microkernel, has a request-and-callback approach to services, and maintains separation between user interface and engine. The OS is optimised for low-power battery-based devices and for ROM-based systems (e.g. features like XIP and re-entrancy in shared libraries). Applications, and the OS itself, follow an object-oriented design: Model-view-controller (MVC). Later OS iterations diluted this approach in response to market demands, notably with the introduction of a real-time kernel and a platform security model in versions 8 and 9. There is a strong emphasis on conserving resources which is exemplified by Symbian-specific programming idioms like descriptor [disambiguation needed]s and a cleanup stack. Nokia N8 is the latest Nokia flagship device and one of their best smartphones to date. This mobile phone has a lot of excitement surrounding it, which makes it all the more attractive. Nokia N8 has a slim and slick design that is a pleasure to hold.

The phone is made out of aluminium, which gives it a top quality finish and a top quality high-end look and the glass touchscreen covers most of the front of the phone, and the front has a single button.

N8 is Nokia’s first ever mobile phone to run on Symbian^3 OS and the new operating system is a much better improvement than previous versions of Symbian on touchscreens. The N8 has AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors display and the screen’s touch response is good, better than other Nokia touchscreens.

The main 12 megapixel camera is fantastic! The camera have Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and can shoot HD video, that you can edit using the ‘built-in editing suite.’ But the most important addition to the camera is the biggest sensor that one can find in a mobile phone, which is even bigger than those found in many digital cameras. This sensor, when combined with the high-end optics will provide top-notch pictures and also enable the camera to function perfectly in low-light conditions. The N8 lives up to its title as the best camera phone on the market at the moment.
