Nokia has taken the wraps off another new smartphones which will be included in the N-Series phone together with the Nokia N79, the Nokia N85, the latest Nokia N-Series multimedia computer that is made to set new standards for mobile entertainment, gaming and sharing. The N85 is Nokia’s smallest dual-slider N-Series handset so far and offers a number of key technological advancements. This is a model packed with an attractive 2.6 inches AM OLED (activematrix organic light-emitting diode) screen with a 320-by-240-pixel resolution and a smooth design finish. A Tri-band WCDMA/Quad-band GSM 3G smartphone that operates S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 on Symbian OS 9.3, GSM 850/GSM 900/GSM 1800/GSM 1900/WCDMA 850/WCDMA 1900/WCDMA 2100 not all versions support WCDMA 850. It boasts N-Gage gaming, music with in-built FM transmitter, TV-out, 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics lens camera and geotagging capabilities, three month integrated license for turn-by-turn voice navigation and high-speed connectivity via 3.5G HSDPA and Wi-Fi, all in one device.
A state-of-the-art 5 megapixel camera (2584 x 1938), which is protected by a sliding lens cover, accompanied by a dual LED flash/photo light and uses Carl Zeiss optics lens with an aperture of F2.8 and focal length of 5.45mm. Video capture is at VGA resolution with DVD-quality at 30 frames per second.
And with A-GPS it is possible to geotag favorite pictures to see where each photo was taken using the Nokia Maps application or online sites such as Share on Ovi or Flickr.
It has WiFi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth connectivity, including support for A2DP and AVRCP profiles (Bluetooth stereo headphones). It has 2.0 Hi-Speed built-in micro-USb connector that allows user to charge the N85 while transferring files to the phone.
Dedicated gaming keys light up when the device is in landscape gaming mode to further enhance the action-packed experience.
A touch sensitive NaviWheel for scrolling make navigation in user interface easy. It also has Auto screen rotation powered by integrated accelerometer sensor.
The Nokia N85 is pre-loaded with at least 15 preloaded N-Gage games that jump off of the screen thanks to the dazzling AM OLED display and there will be an in-box voucher that will let you activate one of these games for free.
Each Nokia N85 comes with an 8 GB microSD card, up to 30 hours of music playback time and its high-fidelity sound means favorite tracks can be enjoyed virtually anywhere.
Build a personal music collection from the millions of tracks and playlists available from the Nokia Music Store or other online music vendors, or synchronize PC and mobile music libraries via USB cable.
Alternatively, consumers can enjoy integrated FM transmitter (as first seen in the N78) and FM radio with RDS support via internet.
The 3.5 mm audio jack makes connecting a top-quality headset simple or play wirelessly via bluetooth through a car or home stereo to really crank up the sound.
With a strong lineup of multimedia features, the Nokia N85 is taking the world of mobile convergence to the next level.
Gaming, photos, navigation and music blend together with the newest Ovi and third party services make discovering and sharing experiences quick and seemly enjoyable.
