This smartphone is one of the front-runners of the all-new Symbian Anna, the Nokia X7. Symbian Anna, previously known as PR 2.0, is a major overhaul bringing portrait QWERTY input, improved browser and a refreshed design to the Symbian^3 platform. The Nokia X7 is also a media-centric device with a premium feel and a 4-inch AMOLED screen. It’s also one of the latest high-end Nokia handsets running Symbian, so it deserves some special attention. But does it deserve your buck? We’ll guide you through the novelties of the interface, see if that 680MHz ARM 11 processor under the hood can back up the experience, and look at the 8-megapixel fixed focus camera, but let’s start with some history.
Nokia X7 comes with a rather unique angular design with four grills on each of its corners, but only the bottom two hold speakers. It has a 4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels dominating the front face. The downside though is that it doesn’t come with Nokia’s ClearBlack enhancement for nearly perfect blacks and better anti-reflection for outdoor visibility, but the colors was very vivid, with blacks still very deep, so I find it as an advantage. Add to that the Gorilla Glass scratch protection, and you’re looking at a delicious screen, corrupted slightly only by the average sunlight legibility.
The Nokia X7 also sports a fixed focus 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. Fixed-focus or full focus has the advantage of keeping nearly everything in focus and at the same time it’s extremely snappy as it doesn’t take the time to adjust focus for each shot. One thing to remember though is that everything closer than 20 inches automatically gets blurry, so you can forget about macro shots.

The Nokia C3 is a user-friendly and affordable smartphone that comes with a Wi-Fi and full QWERTY keyboard. It’s a slim at 13.6mm and lightweight device that weighs in at 114g and at 58mm it’s a little bit wider than the average candybar phone, but that’s so it can easily accommodate the full QWERTY keyboard.

The Nokia C3 is a smartphone with key features that include Nokia Messaging 3.0 IM/SMS service for social networking, QVGA landscape display, WLAN, MP3 player, 2.0MP Full Focus camera and memory card support for up to 16GB. Other features include contacts on homescreen and also Stereo FM radio, Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and MIDP Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs. The low price of this phone meant Nokia had to cut down on some features like 3G, so you must rely on Wi-Fi signal for your web browsing and on checking out your social networking sites. But the lack of 3G in Nokia C3 is nothing to complain about, since there are lots and lots of free Wi-Fi hotspots where you can access free internet with this lovely Nokia C3.

The Nokia C3 is also powered by the old Symbian S40 Operating System which is really a downer since the Nokia C5 sports S60 OS. But just like the other phone, every phone has its value to excel. You will find the keyboard on the Nokia C3 to be great, the battery life is outstanding and the sheer easy-to-use makes it one of the better entry-level devices on the market today. You can easily change the background theme and icons on your own. For easy ringtone personalization, Nokia C3 support the following formats: MP3 ringtones, .mid, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+, WMA..

You can get live Facebook and Twitter feeds right on your home screen and you can manage your email up to 10 personal email accounts. You can also Chat using Windows Messenger, Yahoo messenger, Google Talk and Ovi Chat. You can access Calendar and music with dedicated widgets on your home screen. When it comes to storage, the 55MB of internal memory is best saved for updates and such like, while the supplied 2GB microSD card has enough memory space to get you making the most of the MP3 player and downloading new apps via Ovi Store, you will find that it supports cards up to 16GB in size, so memory space shouldn’t be an issue at all.
Nokia C3 is available in Slate Gray, Golden White and Hot Pink color combination.

Key features:
* Full-QWERTY keyboard
* Quad-band GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
* 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support
* 2.4″ 256K-color QVGA display with excellent sunlight legibility

Today we’ll be looking into the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, the second touch screen model of the Nokia’s music series. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the latest to be added to the Nokia mobile phone assortment, following in the footsteps of the 5800 XpressMusic with a slightly lower price tag than its predecessors.

Sporting the Symbian S60 OS 5th edition, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has not only the brain of a smart phone, but also a great touch screen mobile phone. It has a 2.9-inch display which you may find a little on the small side, considering it doesn’t fill the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic frame, it is a great device that well functions both as a reliable communicator and as an excellent music player.

And just like with the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, both the microSD and SIM card slots are on the left side of the phone. The volume rocker and the slider that locks and unlocks the phone screen and touch sensitive keys are on the opposite side, along with the camera shutter. The 3.5mm jack is on the bottom side, with the microUSB and charger ports on either side. Finally, the bottom left corner hides the plastic stylus that is not telescopic, but is long enough.

Unfortunately, there are downsides to a low budget mobile phone like the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic does not offer 3G connectivity, but is equipped with Wi-Fi. While not as high-end as the Nokia 5800, this device is equip with a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, 3.5 mm audio jack that´s mandatory for all music-oriented devices these days, and a touchscreen display offering resolution of 640×360.

And the color support remains the same with 16M colors and image quality in artificial light is decent. The display sensitivity has been seriously improved and the manufacturer has incorporated TFT resistive technology again. You still need to press firmly, but this feels much easier now and doesn’t require much pressure. To easily personalize your Nokia 5530, search the following ringtone formats: MP3 Ringtones and Polyphonic Ringtones

Assessment on Nokia 5530 XpressMusic:

- Cheaper than the 5800 XpressMusic
- Feature a 2.9-inch touch-screen, a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera, a 3.5mm headphone socket, a FM radio
- Connectivity options: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, WLAN, high speed MicroUSB connector
- 70MB of internal memory along with a 4GB microSD card
- A pop-up Media bar to quickly access music, photos, videos, Internet
- A built-in music player support for MP3, AAC and WMA
- Excellent audio quality
- Doesn’t charge via USB
- Not optimized for finger touch browsing

I believe that is what Nokia XpressMusic phones are all about. To deliver a phone with Music Player/Entertainment capabilities on it with an affordable price for all music lover.

Nokia N900 Maemo 5 Mini-Computer -Another Breakthrough In Cellphone Technology

Boom!!! Another bombshell from Nokia! Cell phones have been an indispensable part of our daily lives for a long time.

Their popularity and influence to people are enormous and still growing rapidly, using the global network for virtually anything, from watching videos, listening to music, chatting, social networking and searching information to content publishing, email correspondence and so on.
And to meet that needs of today´s tech-hungry consumers, Nokia released their latest internet tablet, the Nokia N900. The most significant difference and advantage over previous generation tablets of the manufacturer is the presence of GSM module that allows phone calls over cellular networks. So what makes this Nokia N900 the newest internet tablet “smartphone” sensation?

One major weapon of the device is Maemo 5, the latest version of the Linux-based operating system. Also, sporting a full QWERTY keyboard, 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor (iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre), support for OpenGL ES 2.0, 32GB built-in memory, microSD card slot for up to 16GB, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio transmitter, A-GPS and Xvid playback capabilities.

“With Linux software, Mozilla-based browser technology and now also with cellular connectivity, the Nokia N900 delivers a powerful mobile multimedia experience,” says Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia. “The Nokia N900 mini-computer shows where we are going with Maemo and we’ll continue to work with the community to push the software forward. What we have with Maemo is something that is fusing the power of the computer, the internet and the mobile phone, and it is great to see that it is evolving in exciting ways.”

Designed for computer-grade performance in a compact size, Maemo complements Nokia’s other software platforms, such as Symbian, which powers Nokia’s smartphones. Jonathan Arber, Senior Research Analyst in Consumer Mobile at IDC says “Just as Nokia continues to expand and diversify its portable device portfolio, so it is deploying multiple platforms to allow it to serve different purposes and address different markets.

While we have seen continued growth in Symbian as a smartphone platform, Maemo enables Nokia to deliver new mobile computing experiences based on open-source technology that has strong ties with desktop platforms.”

Packs with a powerful ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. The Nokia N900 runs in a PC-like multitasking, allowing many applications to run simultaneously. Switching between applications is simple, as all running content is constantly available through the dashboard. The panoramic homescreen can be fully personalized with favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications.

Messaging is made easy and convenient thanks to the full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
A demo video of the latest and greatest business messaging devices by Nokia leaked online revealing the yet unannounced Nokia E72 and Nokia E75. This is indeed a hot news! [...]

This is indeed a hot news! But the sad news is that while I’m writing this blog, the said leaked video’s had been pulled out from YouTube.
Although the YouTube video is most likely an attempt of viral marketing, the polished performance shows one device called the E72 and another dubbed the E75, a slider.
The E75 has a silde-out QWERTY keypad while maintaining some resemblance to the already existing E66 and the E72 has a full QWERTY keypad below the display. Everything about the video looks real as far as we can say and both the E75 and E72 seems like great devices. An accelerometer recognizes which orientation the phone’s being held in, suggesting that the phone’s also set-up for viewing pictures and videos in either orientation.
The E72’s a wider handset than the E72, but looks more like a business oriented talker similar to the existing E61i and E71. The E72 doesn’t sport a slide out keyboard.
According to a promotional video that’s been leaked online, we could say that apart from the QWERTY keypad, both the cell phones have WiFi, GPS, an accelerometer, and may be even HSDPA support, running as usual on Symbian OS.
It might not be a long time till Nokia announces these two new nokia handsets, but until then, we will be happy to bring you more information and updates via leaks and slip-ups that seem to happen much too often nowadays.
I’ve managed to find a couple of pictures and added in this post to show you what you’ve missed on the video leaked on YouTube.

We are impressed of how Nokia has focused on luxury models the past year. Nokia has just recently introduced another addition to their luxury line – the 8800 Carbon Arte [...]

We are impressed of how Nokia has focused on luxury models the past year. Nokia has just recently introduced another addition to their luxury line – the 8800 Carbon Arte to continue this rather extravagant tradition. The 8800 Carbon Arte has a fraternal twin sister, the 8800 Sapphire Arte. Besides these two, we still find the model to have a similar feel with the earlier Sirocco series.
So what can we expect from this new member of the 8800 family? Well, there is not much. In fairness though, Nokia did upgraded the handset platform to a newer series and added in some great refurbishments. In terms of design, what we liked most about the 8800 Carbon Arte is its slightly bigger, more tactile Keypad and a control keypad accessible even if the phone is closed. However, the original sapphire D-pad first found on the Sapphire Arte was replaced by carbon and titanium which make up most of its body. The 8800 Carbon Arte is the sexiest model of the 8800 family. It has a compact weight of 150g, which we find good or else you might think you have wasted too much money on a plastic model. In keeping with the tradition of the Nokia 8800 Arte range, each detail of the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte phone is carefully considered to enhance the premium value and quality of the device.
Engineered from carbon fibre, titanium, polished glass and stainless steel, the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte mobile phone is for individuals who appreciate uncompromised high performance. Carbon fibre is an ultra light and strong material that expresses a woven pattern that is both high-tech and sensuous. Custom built to ensure the precision engineering that these materials require, the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte features 3D patterns that express the inherent performance and lustre of carbon fibre. But with Nokia’s anti-fingerprint coating, smudges on metal and glass reduces and unsightly outer seams are hidden by a unique all-in-one microUSB connector. Their living wallpaper feature is very interesting, where background images organically change during the day, giving a unique appearance to the display.
The enhancements of the Series 40 3rd edition platform include 3G connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera that can shoot 2048×1536 pixel stills and VGA videos and high quality audio, the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte boasts a stunning OLED technology display and built-in memory that has been expanded to 4 GB.
Combining timeless style with superb functionality, the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte offers the unique tap-for-time feature – consumers can tap the steel surface below the display twice and a clock appears on the screen. The turn-to-mute silencing mechanism allows individuals to silence incoming calls in a discrete manner by turning the phone over, screen-side down. What we find most notable with the 8800 Carbon Arte is its increased battery capacity. It has an estimated talktime of 3 hours and 20 minutes and can last 300 hours on standby. However, despite its 3G, we found it frustrating that this model does not support video calls.
Though the 8800 Carbon Arte is much like all the rest of the luxury 8800 models from Nokia, this addition to the family definitely is an improvement of the race. With its elegant and intuitive interface, its luxury build and material, the 8800 Carbon Arte is truly another masterpiece, a symbol of success for today’s mobile elite.
